Bespoke Oak Bookshelves & Storage Units
Bourne’s Fine Furniture will work closely with you to design and build the perfect piece of bespoke, hand-made furniture for your lounge or sitting room.
This bespoke unit was made to the customer’s exact specifications from American white oak.
The central portion of the unit includes bookshelves with storage units to the sides and below. The whole unit was handmade in six sections that lock together invisbly while allowing easy transport. The unit is shaped to fit right into the corner of the room, with a perfect cut-out for the skirting board and a trimmed cornice.
The finish is clear matte lacquer to match the customer’s existing furniture perfectly.
This unit was handmade in Ian Bourne’s furniture workshop in Sussex and took around 3 weeks to complete. A guide price for a similar unit is £3,000 – £3,500.
Ian installed our wall unit in April 2010 having designed it with us. We are delighted with the outcome it was exactly what we expected since Ian had been meticulous in handling every aspect of our project. The result is our wonderful unit, which has been admired by many of our family and friends. It now houses many of our treasured possessions.
